About N|VU , the open source web authoring system:

N|vu is an Open Source project started by Lindows, Inc.
N|vu is a complete Web Authoring System for Linux Desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Even Mac OSX is not being forgotten (unofficial release).
N|vu (pronounced N-view, for a "new view") makes managing a web site a snap.  Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with
no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML.


N|vu was started from the Mozilla Composer code base.  The Mozilla Internet suite is in the process of being broken up into individual pieces
(browser, email, etc.).  Nvu picks up where Composer left off, adding additional features, functionality and ease of use.

Keyboard Shortcuts of N|VU!

N|vu got a lot of functions which you can use by going to the menubar and select the needed options.
However there are many Keyboard keys combination intergrated into N|vu. Which , if you know the combinations by heart, can make life easier. In this part of the tutorial you will find the keyboard key-combinations of N|VU.  The key combinations will be in a table, the first row gives the key-combination, the second row explains the key combinations. The Light gary cells are the menu options (File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Table, Tools and Help). The key combination beneath a light gray cell are related to that menu option.

Opens the pulldown menu File
CTRL + N
Opens a new document
CTRL + O
Opens a html file , you select the html file and it will open into n|vu.
CTRL + SHIFT + L
Opens a html file on a web location!
CTRL + W
Close the current document
CTRL + S
Saves the current document
CTRL + SHIFT + S
Opens the publish window
CTRL + P
Opens the print(er) window
CTRL + Q
Quits N|vu.
ALT + E   (Edit Menu)
Opens the pulldown menu Edit
CTRL + Z
Undo your last change(s) to the document
CTRL + Y
Redo your last undo change(s) to the document
CTRL + X
Cut  , puts the current selection into the clipboard and cuts the selection.
CTRL + C
Copy  , copies the contains of the clipboard into the documents.
CTRL + V
Paste , inserts the contains of the clipboard into the documents.
DEL
Delete  , deletes a charater or a selection
ALT + A
Select all  , selects everything in the current document
CTRL + F
Opens the Find and Replace window
CTRL + G
Find Again  , find the text again (do a forward find).
CTRL + SHIFT + G
Find previous , find previous text (do a backwards find).

Opens the Spell check window.
