We are going to show you how you can manage the power settings in Windows 7. In Windows 7 are some new power management options that you can set up in Windows 7 compared to XP. You can change these settings so that you can save battery power on your notebook, netbook or to reduce energy consumption on a desktop system. We take a look how to manage and tweak the power plans, and how to create custom plans as well.
To access power plan options and modify them we doing the following:
type into the search bar in the Start Menu power settings 
The Power Settings Options screen appears and let you select from the three predefined plans: Balanced, Power saver, or High performance. 
If you click on Choose it shows you what the power button does. You can tweak these options, which are -Requiring a password on wakeup and what the power button on the computer does. The option When I press the power button to Do nothing, won't mean that have a problem with the PC shutting down when you press the power button.

If you want to change any one of the predefined power plans then click on Change plan settings. 
You can now change the inactive time before the monitor is turned off or when the computer goes into Sleep mode.
When your custom settings isn't what you want, you can revert back to the default settings, by simply click on Restore default settings for this plan. 
You can also make a Custom plan if you want.
Tweak your powersetting to your needs, and enjoy the comfort of it.
